Kent

Days -

A 3 day break which includes a visit to Hever Castle & Gardens, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII which coincides with the 2024 Tulip Festival

Trip Description

Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII. Wander through the gardens at Hever Castle and admire the 40,000 tulips in stunning displays of spring colour. In the Castle, selected rooms will continue the theme and showcase fantastic floral arrangements.
2024 Theme: A Celebration of Spring
Other points of interest:
The Boleyn Apartment on the first floor of Hever Castle will transport you back in time to the Tudor period. The apartment in Hever Castle, will be the only surviving suite of rooms in the world that the Boleyn family definitely occupied, with the space being re-interpreted with Tudor artefacts and furnishings.

The influence of the Boleyn family is clear to see as you enter the Parlour (previously the Morning Room), before climbing the spiral staircase to the Children’s Bedchamber (formerly Anne Boleyn’s Bedroom), walking through to the Great Chamber (formerly the Book of Hours Room) and into the Best Bedchamber (formerly the Queens’ Chamber).

A clever use of tapestries, friezes, furniture, coats of arms and traditional smells will give a real sense of the family who once lived there.
