Trip Description

At Chatham Docks explore 3 historic Warships - HMS Gannet, a Victorian Sloop, HMS Cavalier, World War II Destroyer and HMS Ocelot, a Cold War Submarine. Other points of interest include: the Big Space, the RNLI Lifeboat Collection. and watch the Master Ropemakers at work using centuries old techniques in the iconic Ropewalk.

The hit drama series, ‘Call the Midwife’, is set in the 1950s/1960s and many of the scenes are filmed at the Historic Dockyard Chatham. A costumed midwife takes you on a guided walking tour of areas of the Dockyard which have been used as locations for many of the scenes in the ‘Call the Midwife’ series. This tour is an optional extra.

Friday - Free time in Canterbury.

Saturday - Historic Chatham Dockyards & optional guided tour.
